WHY MARRIAGE MATTERS

Marriage is a big deal! If you don’t believe it, look at all of the court cases that have been held over the last several years in an attempt to legitimize certain unions as marriage.

The definition of marriage is what is at stake. A lot of people have wondered what all the fuss is about. Why not just let people marry whomever they want? Why does it matter if they use the word “marriage”? 

It really does matter a great deal! Whoever can define marriage, can determine what is morally acceptable or not as it relates to sexuality. The thing is God is the Author and Creator of marriage. It is His institution and as it’s creator, He gets to define what it means and what is allowed.

Tonight, we are going to take a survey of Scripture to see what the Bible says about marriage and the family relationships that make up this holy union. We are also going to look at why marriage is so important.

To start, we will go all the way back to the beginning in the Garden with Adam and Eve.
